The firm's specialist Court of Protection team in Birmingham deals with the full remit of Court of Protection work to include; management of financial affairs for individuals who lack mental capacity to make their own decisions and a professionally managed Deputyship service to clients.
This thriving team are known for their professionalism in being able to effectively balance the emotive nature of their work, the needs of their clients and the specific requirements of the Court. They pride themselves on providing excellent service in a swift and effective way whilst dealing with highly sensitive and often complex cases. This is a fantastic role for a senior Court of Protection lawyer looking for a step up to partnership as part of a friendly and collegiate team.
As a senior member of the team, our client would expect you to have strong experience of all aspects of Court of Protection work and a proven track record of working with clients and families to adhere to the Mental Capacity Act. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients on all aspects of property and affairs work including deputyships, damages management, trusts, contested lasting and enduring powers of attorney, gifting applications and Statutory Wills.
In addition, you will be a natural leader and have substantial experience of supervising and development a team, have a detailed knowledge of the costings process and the required team structuring and enjoy business development. Our client is particularly interested in hearing from lawyers who are Panel Deputies and who have a client following. This role will require travel across offices from time to time.
