Our client is a market-leading conglomerate with a global presence, they have diverse business interests across energy, healthcare and transportation. They are recruiting for an employment counsel to support their international business, which is at a stage of exceptional growth. This is a newly created role and an excellent opportunity for a lawyer in private practice to transition into an in-house role.
The Employment Counsel is responsible for leading the employment law function, providing practical, timely, strategic, and high-quality legal advice and counsel to a broad spectrum of clients within the group.
As strategic legal partner to global Human Resources ("HR"), business leaders and their teams, you will report to the lead Regulatory Counsel and oversee a full range of employment law support and advice in regard to matters affecting the employees in the Group.
You are a common-law qualified lawyer with between 6-10 years' experience and a degree/Masters/JD from a reputable law school. Ideally, you've gained experience with a top tier law firm and/or preferably in an in-house role where you've had deep experience in employment law advice, counsel, and litigation. You have a sound understanding of APAC (or other notable region) employment law and an ability to apply that knowledge pragmatically in a commercial environment.
