Head of Global Trade Compliance (f/m/d)

to be based in their Regional European HQ near Düsseldorf. In this exciting and challenging global position you will be leading a small team of regional responsible specialists and you will be responsible for the Global Trade Compliance Organisation.

You will establish and coordinate a globally acting efficient customs and export control organisation with the local business units as well as the development of decentralised processes in the area of trade compliance. You will be responsible for the monitoring, analysis and preparation of the legal framework relevant to the global organisation (e.g. AWG, AWV, dual-use, US re-export, Chinese Export Control Law, sanctions lists, embargo measures, UZK and various customs regulations from a WCO perspective). You will manage an operational team and cooperate cross-functional on various global projects, especially in the area of tariffing and export control/classification. Furthermore, you will conduct internal audits in the area of trade compliance and you will be the central contact person for regulatory authorities.

You will be a Trade Compliance expert with educational background e.g. in economics and at least 6 years of work experience, ideally gained in an internationally operating manufacturing company. You will have a strong knowledge of export control inspection, including classification of goods, the application procedure (BAFA - ELAN K2) and the tariff classification of goods. You will have experience in working with and ideally also leading geographically distributed teams. You will also have a very good understanding of cross-functional processes in the area of supply chain & sales management. Fluency in German and English is a must.
