We have been exclusively retained to hire a Head of Legal for a highly entrepreneurial, young and ambitious Fin-Tech start-up. Having secured a significant amount of funding in 2020 the business has a solid foundation with which to further build and strengthen its offering in the rapidly evolving web3 space.

Reporting into the CEO you will play a vital role in supporting the CEO and COO in building and maintaining a high performing legal function. You will own the full range of legal work with responsibility for everything from leading on all corporate M&A transactions, contributing to commercial strategy, leading legal negotiations to physical drafting of contracts and managing external counsel effectively. As a critical leader within this high growth business, you will play a senior role both internally and externally.

To be successful in this position you will need to have sound understanding of applicable laws and regulations and make commercial legal decisions. You will need to possess the ability to manage the impact of external factors and limit risk exposure in a rapidly changing legal landscape.

You will ideally be a qualified UK lawyer with 5-10 years of post-qualification experience, gained within a leading private practice firm and have some in-house experience either in a permanent or secondment position. You will have a strong corporate M&A background, ideally in the fintech space with a solid understanding of the regulatory environment. As the business is in early-stage you will need to be comfortable in an unstructured fast paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking to progress your career in a forward thinking and dynamic environment.
