Legal Counsel - LONDON/HYBRID

A high-growth FinTech scale-up is looking for a junior commercial counsel to join their legal team and influence the business following its Series C round of funding last year. This is a newly created position with a focus on shaping and helping lead on legal operations.

Reporting to the General Counsel this will be an autonomous, hands-on role with great exposure to the business side of things. It will be a varied role, with the opportunity to draft and negotiate commercial contracts and templates for the business. You will carry out research tasks, assist with GDPR compliance across the group, as well as shaping legal operations, suggesting how processes can be adapted and how technology can be optimised to elevate how the team works. Roles with a focus on the strategic side of the legal function are very rare at this level, so this is a truly exciting opportunity for a proactive and innovative junior lawyer.

You must be a UK qualified commercial lawyer who is ideally NQ-3 PQE. To be considered for this position you must have either trained at a top tier law firm and possess some in house experience or, you have worked in-house in a similar environment. Experience in FinTech would be preferable though is not a requirement. You will need to be bright, commercially minded, and eager to learn to succeed in this fast-paced environment.
